Pittsburgh defensive back Joey Porter Jr. has pushed back against recent speculation that he sought a move away from the franchise during ongoing contract talks.

Addressing the media, the cornerback clarified that lacking an extension is ancient history and dismissed the narrative that he demanded a departure from the organization.

Regarding his availability, the fourth-year defender stopped short of confirming whether he will make his season debut during the upcoming matchup against Cincinnati. Although a lingering back issue and conditioning concerns have kept him sidelined for the opening two contests, the player indicated he fully intends to return to the field whenever he is completely healthy.
