Seth Jones has silenced critics and emerged as the Florida Panthers’ most impactful defenseman since joining the team ahead of the 2025 trade deadline. In 80 regular-season games, Jones has delivered 10 goals and 48 points, leading the Panthers in average ice time at 24:12 per game and ranking seventh in the NHL with 25:52 this season.
His offensive contributions have been pivotal, particularly on the power play, where he has become the team’s top threat at even strength and on the man advantage. The 32-year-old continued his strong play with four assists in a win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, tying a franchise record and reinforcing his status as the Panthers’ No.
1 defenseman alongside Gustav Forsling’s defensive prowess. Coach Paul Maurice and teammate Brady Tkachuk have praised Jones’ improved speed, confidence, and preparation, crediting a rigorous offseason training regimen with Aaron Ekblad.
In his first seven games with Florida, Jones has already recorded one goal and seven points, placing him tied for fifth among NHL defensemen in scoring this season.
