Following a brief period as an unrestricted free agent, guard Ryan Nembhard has agreed to a deal with the Denver Nuggets. To create a roster spot for the former Gonzaga standout, the franchise parted ways with KJ Simpson.
Nembhard previously spent time with the Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks, and Charlotte Hornets before making his way to Colorado.
During his rookie campaign, the 5-foot-11 playmaker appeared in sixty games, putting up averages of 6.6 points, 5.3 assists, and 2.2 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per contest. He also etched his name into the record books by dishing out an NBA rookie record of 23 assists in a single game against the Chicago Bulls.
As he prepares for his second year under coach David Adelman, he is expected to split time between the main roster and the Grand Rapids Gold in the G League, with training camp already underway at the CU Events Center in Boulder.
