The New York Rangers are exploring goaltending options following a season-ending injury to Igor Shesterkin and the absence of Joonas Korpisalo. General manager Chris Drury has reportedly inquired about Toronto Maple Leafs backup Anthony Stolarz to bolster the position.
While Dylan Garand has performed well in limited action with a 4-1-0 record and a shutout, the team remains cautious given his minimal NHL experience. Stolarz, who is currently under a four-year contract, recently recorded his first loss of the season in a 5-4 defeat against the Utah Mammoth.
He holds a 3.32 goals-against average and an .875 save percentage across his appearances this year.
