Virginia Tech’s 2026 transfer class is delivering standout performances halfway through the season, with several newcomers already making an impact. Quarterback Ethan Grunkeymeyer has been the Hokies’ engine, leading the ACC in passing yards (1,734) and completion percentage (73.1%) while accounting for 16 total touchdowns across six games.
His backup, Bryce Baker, has shown flashes in limited action, completing 11 of 14 passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. On the offensive line, Michael Troutman III has anchored the left guard spot for the last three games, posting solid run- and pass-blocking grades, while tight end Luke Reynolds has been a revelation, leading NCAA tight ends in yards (431) and receptions (41) with four touchdowns.
The wide receiver group has also contributed, with Que'Sean Brown leading the team in receiving yards (434) and Marlion Jackson providing key plays, including a clutch two-catch, 38-yard drive against Cal. The lone disappointment so far is running back Bill Davis, who has yet to play due to injury, leaving the Hokies’ backfield depth in question.
