Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rico Dowdle made his first practice appearance in over two weeks on Wednesday, signaling progress in his recovery from a dislocated toe suffered during Week 2 against the New England Patriots. Dowdle, who missed the team’s subsequent games against the Bengals and Browns, was listed as a limited participant and remains part of the Steelers’ rehab group ahead of Sunday’s Week 5 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.
Meanwhile, the Steelers’ injury report also noted defensive back DeShon Elliott remains on injured reserve with no update on his availability, while wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. (foot) practiced with limitations.
Defensive lineman Cam Heyward took a rest day, while Jamel Dean (ankle) and Jalen Ramsey (wrist) did not participate, continuing their recovery from recent setbacks. On the Colts’ side, a longer injury report included non-participants Ashton Dulin (hamstring), Akeem Davis-Gaither (knee), Jaylon Carlies (ribs), Tanor Bortolini (ankle), and Arden Key (hamstring), with Keenan Allen (groin) and Jonathan Taylor (rest) practicing with restrictions.
