Ravens rookie WR Ja'Kobi Lane to undergo wrist surgery

Baltimore Ravens first-year wideout Ja'Kobi Lane is slated for an operation after sustaining a broken wrist in his regular-season debut. The 22-year-old managed to haul in a four-yard score before suffering the setback during his team's 41-23 triumph over the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The injury casts a shadow over Baltimore's passing game moving forward, especially following a campaign where the franchise failed to qualify for the playoffs.

Lane was not the only Baltimore receiver to exit the opening contest early. Fellow pass-catcher Zay Flowers left the matchup after reinjuring a hamstring problem that had previously hampered him during preseason workouts, though he racked up 150 receiving yards in the first half before departing.

While the team remains hopeful that Flowers can suit up for their next fixture, Lane is confirmed out as he prepares to undergo surgical repair.
