The Los Angeles Rams’ recent loss to the Buffalo Bills in overtime has left them at 2-3 and outside the playoff picture for now, but Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades from the game reveal standout performances that could signal a turnaround. Wide receiver Puka Nacua dominated the Bills’ defense with 24 targets, the second-highest in the 21st century, and finished with 17 catches for 138 yards and a touchdown.
Nacua thrived against Buffalo’s soft coverage, particularly in screen plays, and outmatched cornerback Davison Igbinosun with six receptions for 52 yards in the final quarter alone. His versatility was on full display as he faced seven different defenders throughout the game, showcasing his ability to create separation in multiple matchups.
Meanwhile, running back Blake Corum contributed significantly as a receiver, hauling in three of four targets for 53 yards after the catch, while the Rams’ offensive line, led by left tackle Alaric Jackson, maintained strong pass protection despite limited rushing success. Jackson earned a high run-blocking grade, though his two-game suspension looms as a potential setback following a post-game altercation with Bills’ defensive end Bradley Chubb.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford, though graded lower by PFF, still delivered a solid performance with 383 yards and three touchdowns, though his average depth of target dropped due to quick decision-making under pressure. The Rams’ offensive line also shined in pass protection, with guards Coleman Shelton and Steve Avila allowing no sacks and earning top marks from PFF.
