The NFL has handed Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson a two-game suspension without pay after he struck Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb on the field. The altercation took place following a Monday night overtime defeat for Los Angeles, which fell 37-34 to Buffalo at SoFi Stadium.
League officials cited a violation of sportsmanship rules for the incident, which occurred while players from both squads were interacting and swapping jerseys. Jackson retains the right to appeal the decision, but his absence will leave quarterback Matthew Stafford exposed against the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.
Veteran David Quessenberry is expected to step in at left tackle, or coach Sean McVay may shift Warren McClendon Jr. to that position.
This marks Jackson's second suspension, as he previously missed the start of the 2024 season for a personal conduct violation. He also faced legal scrutiny earlier this year involving a dismissed civil suit and a domestic violence arrest that did not result in criminal charges.
