Quicker than Tendulkar, Ponting & Sangakkara: Rohit Sharma reaches 12,000 ODI runs

During a massive run chase to overcome a target of 406 runs, India opening batter Rohit Sharma achieved a major career milestone. By taking a single off bowler Roston Chase inside the sixteenth over, he secured his twelfth thousandth career run in one day internationals.

This feat allowed him to surpass legendary names like Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, and Kumar Sangakkara by reaching the milestone in fewer innings. He now stands as the third Indian cricketer to join this elite scoring group, following Tendulkar and Virat Kohli.
