Que'Sean Brown's Monstrous Performance vs. Georgia Tech Pushes Him Closer To The Hokies' Record Books

October 18, 2026

Virginia Tech wide receiver Que'Sean Brown delivered a historic offensive performance in the Hokies' 34-24 victory over Georgia Tech, setting multiple program records in the process. Brown dominated with six catches on six targets for 182 receiving yards—his sixth-most in a single game in school history—and added a touchdown, while also contributing 57 punt return yards, including a game-changing 63-yard return in the third quarter that set up a critical field goal.

His 251 all-purpose yards for the game now rank eighth in Virginia Tech history, and his 182 receiving yards alone accounted for 73% of quarterback Ethan Grunkemeyer’s total passing yards. Brown’s standout effort also pushed him toward breaking Isaiah Ford’s single-season receiving yard record of 1,146 yards, established in 2015, as he surpassed his previous career-high of 178 yards in a game.

Despite an early muffed punt return that led to a Georgia Tech field goal, Brown’s resilience shone through with three separate plays of 60-plus yards, showcasing his versatility as both a receiver and a special-teams threat. Head coach James Franklin praised Brown’s leadership, noting his ability to elevate the team’s performance when given the opportunity.

Brown’s dynamic play extended beyond the stat sheet, as his presence disrupted Georgia Tech’s defense repeatedly, forcing multiple missed tackles on long gains. Grunkemeyer highlighted Brown’s impact, calling him a constant threat at every level of the field, whether in the open field or on short screens.

The senior’s ability to create separation and capitalize on mismatches proved decisive, particularly in the first half, where he set a new career high with 180 yards on just five catches before halftime. While his second-half receiving output dipped, his influence remained pivotal, with his punt return directly contributing to Virginia Tech’s lead expansion.

Brown’s all-around excellence underscored his status as one of the Hokies’ most valuable offensive weapons this season.
