Preview: Wizards begin preseason against Knicks Thursday night

The Washington Wizards kick off their 2026 preseason campaign with a road matchup against the New York Knicks on Thursday evening. The game, set to tip off at 7:30 p.m.

ET in Madison Square Arena, offers an early glimpse into both teams’ rotations as they prepare for the upcoming NBA season. The Knicks, fresh off a 120-97 preseason loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, will look to bounce back, while the Wizards—missing key contributors Jamir Watkins and Tristan Vukčević—will test their depth in limited minutes.

With the defending NBA champions on the line, the focus will be on how Washington’s young talent, including standout forward AJ Dybanta, integrates into the lineup as the preseason unfolds.
