Pens Points: Crosby meets Ovechkin for first of final battles

Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin clash tonight in Washington for the opening contest of their final regular season series against one another, following the recent announcement that this will be Ovechkin's last year in the league. Ahead of the opening puck drop, Pittsburgh tweaked its forward combinations at practice following a defeat against Winnipeg, while injured forward Bryan Rust participated in full workouts.

Meanwhile, other developments around the league saw the termination of a brief romance-audio marketing campaign, a long-awaited return between the pipes for veteran goaltender Semyon Varlamov, a debut goal for top draft pick Gavin McKenna, and an extended injury absence for Florida captain Aleksander Barkov.
