Papers: Man City knew of guilty verdict in summer

According to reports in the national press, Manchester City reportedly learned of an independent panel's guilty verdict regarding more than one hundred breaches of financial regulations during the summer prior to heavy transfer spending, though an agreement for Elliot Anderson was finalized before club officials received word of the decision. In light of the near-one-billion-pound financial rules scandal, the club now faces the possibility of expulsion from the Premier League.

Elsewhere in football, Newcastle United are preparing to recruit Fraser Stewart from Kilmarnock as their goalkeeping coach, while Robbie Savage prepares to depart Forest Green Rovers to take over as manager at Peterborough United. In European competition news, Kylian Mbappe, Ibrahima Konate, and Federico Valverde are anticipated to recover from injuries in time for Real Madrid's upcoming fixture against Barcelona.
