Panthers fire DC Ejiro Evero; name interim DC and defensive play caller

Following a 27-19 defeat against the Green Bay Packers, the Carolina Panthers have dismissed defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero and defensive passing game coordinator Jonathan Cooley. The organization has appointed Todd Wash to serve as the interim defensive coordinator, where he will assume responsibility for calling defensive plays.

Wash brings over three decades of coaching experience to the role, including a five-year stint as the defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Evero had been with the franchise since 2023, having been retained by head coach Dave Canales after serving under the previous coaching staff.
