Odell Beckham Jr.: Kevin O'Connell wanted me to be here

Odell Beckham Jr. revealed that Minnesota Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell played a key role in his decision to join the team after his release from the New York Giants.

Beckham, who had other suitors, cited O'Connell’s personal investment in his arrival, noting the coach’s genuine enthusiasm for his potential impact. Unlike his return to the Giants—which critics framed as more of a publicity move than a football decision—the Vikings’ interest in Beckham appears purely performance-driven, with O'Connell confident the star receiver can elevate the roster immediately.

The Vikings’ first test comes Sunday in Louisiana, where Beckham will face the New Orleans Saints in his home-state debut. O'Connell, who previously passed on signing Beckham, now sees this as the right moment to integrate the Super Bowl-winning wideout into Minnesota’s offense.
