Making only his second first-class appearance, the bowler claimed a five-wicket haul to lead the attack. He received valuable support with the ball from Kishore, who picked up three dismissals of his own to help wrap up the innings rapidly. At the crease, Rocky Flintoff had offered spirited resistance by compiling an impressive innings of 65. The young batter managed to strike Langridge powerfully for a boundary in an echo of his father's batting style, but his knock ended on the very next delivery after picking out the fielder at long-off. That concluding wicket tightened the standings at the bottom of the table, cutting the margin between the two lowest-ranked sides to 18 points.
