Notre Dame vs Stanford Countdown: Irish Offense Has Opportunity For A Big Afternoon

Notre Dame is gearing up to face Stanford on the heels of the Cardinal suffering a heavy 57-3 defeat against Wake Forest. The upcoming clash for the Legend's Trophy serves as a final preparatory test for the Fighting Irish before they face BYU.

Quarterback CJ Carr enters the contest following consecutive outings where he registered at least three passing touchdowns and a rushing score, while the team's rushing attack recently achieved season bests of 241 yards and 45 attempts against North Carolina. Stanford's defense struggles statistically, yielding 299.8 passing yards per game and ranking near the bottom nationally in both rushing touchdowns and yards per carry allowed.

In individual matchups, offensive lineman Will Black is slated to face Stanford edge rusher Omar Staples, while linebacker Matt Rose's potential absence could further hinder the Cardinal defense.
