Notre Dame slides back a bit in both the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll

Notre Dame entered its October 17 matchup against BYU ranked second nationally in both the AP Top 25 and the Coaches Poll. After a certified loss that prompted an apology from the Big 12, the Fighting Irish fell to fourth in the AP ranking and dropped to eighth in the coaches’ poll.

Miami remains atop the AP poll and is slated to travel to South Bend on November 7 to meet Notre Dame, with the first College Football Playoff rankings set to be released the Tuesday before that game.
