Nick Sirianni explains why Eagles WR Hollywood Brown didn’t play Week 1

The Philadelphia Eagles edged out a narrow 24-22 triumph against the Washington Commanders to kick off their regular season, extending their opening-week record to 6-0 under the tandem of head coach Nick Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts. Philadelphia's attack, operating for the first time with Sean Mannion calling plays as offensive coordinator, generated 318 total yards and succeeded on 6 of 14 third-down opportunities.

The offensive performance featured big moments, including three throws by Hurts exceeding 30 yards along with two separate rushes topping 20 yards.

Despite being dressed and eligible for action, newly acquired wideout Hollywood Brown spent the entire contest on the sideline without logging a snap. Sirianni addressed the decision to keep the veteran receiver unused, while also offering public support for rookie Makai Lemon following a difficult first appearance in the victory.
