Kess Elmore finally achieved her goal of representing Northern Ireland during their recent 4-0 loss to Portugal. Although she previously participated in a 2021 training camp, the Sparta Prague player admitted she had largely moved on from the prospect of an international call-up before manager Michael McArdle reached out for the play-off series.
Elmore entered the match as a half-time substitute and provided a fresh attacking spark for the hosts. This appearance marked one of three debuts overseen by McArdle as he looks to expand his roster options.
Despite typically playing in midfield or on the wing, the former England youth international spent her time on the pitch operating as a lone forward.
