The NFL has handed L.A. Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson a two-game suspension after he was caught on camera throwing a punch at Buffalo Bills edge rusher Bradley Chubb following Monday night’s overtime loss.
Jackson, a key offensive lineman ranked 12th among tackles this season by PFF, will miss the Rams’ upcoming matchups against the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders, returning in Week 8 for the game against the L.A. Chargers.
The suspension comes despite Jackson’s solid on-field performance, including a recent three-year contract extension with the team, though his off-field conduct has drawn repeated scrutiny, including prior domestic violence allegations that led to an arrest before the season began.
To cover Jackson’s absence, the Rams have turned to veteran David Quessenberry, who last started a game in 2023 with the Vikings. Quessenberry, now 36, was re-signed by the Rams after last season and remains on the roster as a backup option.
While rookie third-round pick Keagen Trost’s 21-day activation window has opened, it remains unlikely he would displace Quessenberry at left tackle for the near term, though the Rams have flexibility in their offensive line depth chart moving forward.
