New Zealand Cricket has introduced a limited-edition jersey, the *Kotahitanga* ODI shirt, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of sporting ties between New Zealand and India. The design blends Māori and Indian cultural motifs, including lotus flowers, mandala art, and traditional patterns like *kowhaiwhai* and *haehae* lines, symbolizing the deep connection between the two nations through cricket.
Artists Ben Thomason, Shiv Narandas, and Jai Pancha collaborated on the shirt, which features three key Indian elements—a lotus, an ogee pattern from Indian architecture, and a mandala—to reflect shared heritage and mutual respect. The jersey will be worn during New Zealand’s upcoming ODI series against India, beginning November 4, following a five-match T20I series starting October 22.
Fans can purchase the limited-edition shirt online or at select Rebel Sport stores, with New Zealand Cricket calling it a collector’s item meant to honor the bond between the nations and their cricketing communities.
