Minnesota Vikings return specialist Myles Price has added another accolade to his resume after the league selected him as the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September. This comes closely on the heels of the league also honoring him with the weekly version of the award for his performance during the third week of the season.
Price stands alone as the solitary player across the league to run back a punt for a touchdown thus far. Furthermore, he paces the National Football League in total punt return yardage at 130, punt return average at 21.7 yards, kickoff return yardage at 353, and overall all-purpose yardage at 483.
His monthly recognition makes him the eighth member in franchise history to receive the honor, following Will Reichard who earned it for the December and January stretch spanning the previous season. The historic list of prior recipients for the franchise includes Fuad Reveiz, Mitch Berger, Chris Kluwe, Percy Harvin, Blair Walsh, and Cordarrelle Patterson.
Berger stands out as the only individual among them to capture the monthly distinction on three separate occasions. Across these recipients, the organization has now collected ten total monthly awards for special teams play.
