Michigan football is poised to make a strong impression on the nation’s top high school prospect this weekend. Five-star defensive lineman Kellan Hall, ranked as the No.
1 recruit in the 2028 class by Rivals, is expected to visit Ann Arbor to observe the Wolverines’ performance against Penn State. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 275 pounds, Hall has drawn national attention for his elite athleticism, consistently clocking 4.8-to-4.9-second 40-yard dashes and showcasing disruptive play on both sides of the ball in his first two years of high school football.
With three recruiting services now ranking him as a five-star plus prospect, Hall’s decision could reshape Michigan’s defensive line in the coming years—especially as the Wolverines prepare for a potential transition after this season’s seniors depart.
Michigan’s defense, currently ranked No. 3 nationally, will provide a compelling showcase for Hall.
The Wolverines’ interior defensive line has been a standout unit under coordinator Jay Hill, but the upcoming five-for-five rule could allow key players like Enow Etta, Trey Pierce, and Jonah Lea’ea to return for another season. Regardless, Hall’s visit offers Michigan a critical opportunity to solidify its standing in the race for the prospect, who remains heavily pursued by other Power Five programs.
