Max Verstappen criticized Liam Lawson for poor decision-making during their collision in the second practice session at the Mexico City Grand Prix. The incident occurred as the pair battled for track position, resulting in contact that damaged both vehicles and triggered a red flag.
Verstappen suggested that Lawson should exercise more caution while competing for a future seat, noting that such aggressive maneuvers are counterproductive for a driver seeking a permanent spot on the grid. Lawson finished the session in ninth, while Verstappen recorded the fifth-fastest time.
The Racing Bulls team is currently evaluating its driver lineup for 2027, with Nikola Tsolov, who debuted in practice with a 12th-place finish, also under consideration alongside Lawson and Arvid Lindblad.
