Man Utd and Liverpool eye Truffert - Thursday's gossip

Manchester United and Liverpool are locked in a fierce battle for the services of French left-back Adrien Truffert, a 24-year-old Bournemouth player valued at around £60 million. The Premier League rivals are both eager to strengthen their defensive lines ahead of the upcoming season, with Truffert’s versatility and experience making him a highly sought-after target.

Meanwhile, Newcastle United are reportedly leading the race to sign Lyon midfielder Tyler Morton, 23, after his impressive performances in France since leaving Liverpool last year. The Magpies are expected to outbid Nottingham Forest for his signature, adding depth to their midfield options.

Elsewhere, Arsenal are set to finalize a new long-term contract with captain Martin Odegaard, 27, solidifying his future at the club under manager Mikel Arteta. The Gunners are also preparing a fresh push to bring Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, 26, to north London in January, with the Argentine forward reportedly open to a move.

Barcelona’s interest in Brazil defender Arthur Dias, 19, remains strong, despite an earlier £18 million bid from Tottenham. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are eyeing Tottenham’s youngster Luca Williams-Barnett, who made his debut at just 16, as they seek to bolster their squads with emerging talent.

Former Real Madrid full-back Dani Carvajal, 34, remains a free agent after his transfer to Getafe collapsed, leaving his future uncertain.
