Phoenix Suns guard Luke Kennard left Wednesday night’s preseason contest against the San Antonio Spurs after just 14 minutes of action, exiting with an apparent non-contact left knee injury. The sharpshooter, who joined the Suns this offseason, managed only two field-goal attempts (both missed) and no three-pointers before the issue arose while attempting a floater.
Kennard grabbed his knee mid-jump, then immediately headed to the locker room without further play, raising concerns given the lack of defensive contact. The injury occurred during a drive to his left, though it remained unclear whether it happened on the ascent or landing.
For a Suns roster still refining its perimeter shooting depth ahead of the regular-season opener, Kennard’s absence—especially from a player with a history of elite three-point shooting—could pose an early challenge.
