The New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart delivered a historic playoff performance in Game 2 of their semifinal series against the Atlanta Dream, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. Stewart recorded 35 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and two blocks, becoming the first player in WNBA history to achieve at least 35 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in a single playoff game.
Despite her efforts, the Dream prevailed in overtime, 101-98, after Naz Hillmon hit the game-winning bucket and Angel Reese sealed the victory with free throws. The Liberty now face elimination after losing Game 1 and struggling to maintain momentum from their first-round sweep of the Minnesota Lynx.
Game 3 will shift to Barclays Center on Friday, with the Dream one step closer to their first WNBA Finals appearance since 2013. Jonquel Jones and Marine Fauthoux also stood out for the Dream, contributing key offensive and defensive plays in the clutch moments of the game.
