Lewis Hamilton disagrees with decision to reduce F1 race lengths

Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton has expressed opposition to an upcoming rule change that will trim the distance of standard grand prix events beginning with the 2027 campaign. Officials confirmed at the start of the week that race distances will drop from 305 kilometres down to 290 kilometres to help decrease the financial burden of modifying chassis designs to accommodate newly redesigned power units.

Hamilton pushed back against the alteration during discussions about the future of the championship, asserting that endurance and extended competition formats are far more beneficial for the sport.
