Nineteen-year-old Vihaan Malhotra marked his First-Class debut for Punjab by scoring 103 runs against Assam. This performance follows a successful year where he contributed to India's Under-19 World Cup campaign and gained experience with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL.
Malhotra credited advice from Dinesh Karthik regarding the importance of playing long innings for his composed approach at the crease. During his time with the IPL franchise, he also sought guidance from Virat Kohli on improving his batting technique.
The young cricketer previously earned a Player of the Match award for a four-wicket haul against Bangladesh during the Under-19 World Cup.
