Leclerc joins growing list of Brazilian GP grid penalties

November 7, 2026

The starting order for the Brazilian Grand Prix will be significantly altered by a wave of engine-related grid drops. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez face the most severe sanctions, with both drivers incurring 30-place penalties for installing multiple new power unit components, effectively forcing them to the rear of the field.

Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton have also been handed 10-place drops after opting for their fifth internal combustion engines of the season. Additionally, George Russell is set to serve a five-place penalty that was announced earlier in the weekend.
