Kieron Pollard, the explosive West Indies all-rounder and former Mumbai Indians stalwart, has made a high-profile switch to the Johannesburg Super Kings for the upcoming SA20 season. After two seasons with MI Cape Town, Pollard joins the franchise backed by Chennai Super Kings—Mumbai Indians’ arch-rivals in the IPL—marking his first tenure with a CSK-affiliated team.
The move comes after Pollard was secured for R1.5 million in the recent players’ auction, adding star power to a squad that already includes West Indies teammates Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein, alongside England’s James Vince and South African stalwarts like Leus du Plooy and Rilee Rossouw. Under head coach Albie Morkel, the Super Kings aim to build on Pollard’s T20 pedigree, which has seen him deliver match-winning performances across global leagues.
