Kent bowler Mahmud recalled by Bangladesh

Bangladesh has called back seam bowler Hasan Mahmud, ruling him out of Kent's concluding two County Championship Division Two fixtures. The 26-year-old paceman claimed a combined 30 wickets across seven appearances in red-ball and T20 Blast action during his stint in England.

His national side summoned him home to ready himself for forthcoming international contests against Afghanistan, South Africa, and the West Indies.

Kent cricket director Simon Cook expressed disappointment over the departure during the promotion battle, though he affirmed that productive discussions preceded the Bangladesh Cricket Board's ruling. Cook added that fellow foreign bowling options Khaled Ahmed and Keith Dudgeon will remain on hand for the final push.

Kent currently occupy third position in the standings, sitting a mere two points adrift of Northamptonshire in second, with closing home fixtures lined up against basement clubs Gloucestershire and Lancashire.
