Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin suffered an injury during the Buckeyes' Week 7 road win over Indiana, exiting the game with roughly eight minutes left in the fourth quarter. The incident occurred on a sack-and-fumble play on first-and-10 from Indiana’s 38-yard line, though the exact nature of the injury remains unspecified.
Sayin returned briefly for the game’s final moments with his right arm in a sling, having thrown for 235 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions by the time he left the field. With 17 passing touchdowns and 1,772 yards on the season, Sayin was one of the Big Ten’s most productive quarterbacks before the setback.
Head coach Ryan Day later confirmed Sayin would miss several weeks, leaving true freshman Luke Fahey as the starter for the foreseeable future. Fahey, a three-star recruit from California, had already appeared in three games this season, completing 9 of 11 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns in limited action against Ball State and Kent State.
