Jaguars signing S Kaevon Merriweather to 53-man roster

The Jacksonville Jaguars have promoted practice squad cornerback Kaevon Merriweather to their 53-man active roster, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The move comes as the team prepares for upcoming matchups while Merriweather, who has been stationed in England this week, made his first appearance in a Jaguars uniform last Sunday.

He logged 44% of special teams snaps and 34% of defensive snaps in Jacksonville’s victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, contributing one tackle in the game. Merriweather’s NFL journey has included stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he played in 12 games last season, and a brief appearance with the Houston Texans in one contest.
