Logan Cooke, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ punter and holder, delivered an extraordinary performance in Sunday’s 19-17 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in London. With long snapper Ross Matiscik sidelined due to a shoulder injury, Cooke had to adapt quickly, stepping in to hold for kicker Cam Little while defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton took over snapping duties.
Cooke’s precision under pressure was on full display, particularly on the extra-point attempt after Jacksonville’s touchdown. Despite Hamilton’s snap being high, Cooke adjusted mid-air, caught the ball cleanly, and repositioned his left foot just in time to avoid interference as Little placed the kick.
His technical mastery—marking the ball’s placement with his left hand, guiding it with his elbow, and spinning the laces away—highlighted the often-overlooked skill of holding in high-stakes moments.
