Ravindra Jadeja is joining the Saurashtra squad for their opening Ranji Trophy fixture against Chhattisgarh. The all-rounder aims to sharpen his red-ball skills before India travels to New Zealand for a two-match Test series in November.
Jaydev Unadkat will captain the side, which is looking to recover from a disappointing group-stage exit in the previous season. The team has retained most of its core roster while adding two new players, Neel Pandya and Arth Yadav, to the group.
Unadkat enters the domestic season following a successful stint with Sussex, where he claimed 28 wickets. Saurashtra will also rely on the pace of Chetan Sakariya and the batting experience of Arpit Vasavada, Chirag Jani, and Jay Gohil.
The match marks the start of the 92nd edition of the tournament.
