India to host inaugural Women's Champions Trophy in February

India has been named the host nation for the debut edition of the Women's Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to take place in February. Sri Lanka had originally been slated to stage the competition but was stripped of those duties due to state meddling in the country's cricket administration. Even though they will no longer stage the matches on home soil, the Sri Lankan squad has retained its qualification spot and is confirmed to participate in the upcoming tournament.
