Ahead of the upcoming second match in Raipur, the Indian women's cricket squad is looking for an improved performance from its opening batters following an early collapse during the series opener. Despite slipping to nineteen for four against Zimbabwe, the hosts secured a four-wicket victory thanks to an eighty-two-run rescue stand between Deepti Sharma and debutant Niki Prasad.
Deepti defended the team's bold playing style after off-spinner Nyasha Gwanzura rattled the top order with three early powerplay scalps. Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Anushka Sharma, and Harmanpreet Kaur will all aim to deliver a much stronger opening foundation this time.
