Kent cricket coach Adam Hollioake admitted to experiencing self-doubt after steering the club through a difficult inaugural season where they managed only two victories across 14 matches. Holding a four-point advantage over Northamptonshire ahead of the final round, Kent can clinch a return to the top flight if they equal or better their rival's result during their upcoming fixture against Gloucestershire.

Reflecting on his initial struggles, the former England all-rounder revealed he questioned his suitability for the role earlier in the year before relying on resilience and a straightforward tactical template to guide the team. Hollioake expressed confidence in his players following a recent seven-wicket victory against Lancashire, noting that the squad remains strictly focused on executing their established plans while ignoring outside factors like weather and opposing results.
