Hat-trick hero Foden stars as Man City thrash AEK Athens

Phil Foden delivered a standout performance for Manchester City, netting a hat-trick in a 5-1 Champions League victory over AEK Athens. The midfielder capitalized on two assists from Rico Lewis before securing his third goal later in the match.

Elliot Anderson and Rayan Cherki also contributed to the scoreline, while teenager Floyd Samba made his debut in place of Erling Haaland. Although Stavros Pilios managed a consolation goal for the visitors, City maintained control throughout the contest to secure their second win of the tournament.

The result marks a significant return to form for Foden, who last recorded a hat-trick for the club in April 2024.
