
The New York Giants have designated J.J. McCarthy as their secondary signal-caller for the upcoming matchup against the Washington Commanders, just days after his trade from Minnesota.
While McCarthy may see action in specialized sets, Jake Haener will serve as the emergency option. New York will also be without running back Devin Singletary for the third consecutive game, while Jason Pinnock, J.C.
Davis, Bobby Jamison-Travis, Nikko Reed, and Tanoa Togiai are also sidelined. Washington welcomes back Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin, though they remain shorthanded due to the absences of Stefon Diggs, Marcus Mariota, Charles Omenihu, Nick Cross, Percy Butler, and Tyler Owens.
