The long-awaited heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua is set to unfold at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11, with organizers finalizing plans for an early-morning event. The ring walk is scheduled to begin at approximately 01:00 GMT, following a brief live music performance, while the stadium will remain open until 03:30.
To accommodate the late timing, Millennium Stadium Plc has submitted an application to Cardiff Council to extend the venue’s premises licence, allowing boxing, live music, and alcohol service until 03:00. The request also includes adjustments for recorded music and refreshments, alongside enhanced security measures to ensure the event runs smoothly.
The fight, over a decade in development, was confirmed last month after a period of uncertainty, with local leaders emphasizing its potential to draw visitors and boost the city’s economy. Public objections to the licence change can be submitted until November 3, with a council decision expected shortly thereafter.
