Sebastian Fundora secured a dramatic victory to retain his WBC super welterweight title, knocking out Ermal Hadribeaj with a single left hand in the final second of the 12th round at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The 28-year-old southpaw, who stands at 6ft 5in, delivered a decisive uppercut after methodically wearing down his opponent with relentless body shots throughout the fight.
This win marks Fundora’s fourth successful title defense and keeps him on track toward becoming the undisputed champion in the 154lb division, having already unified the WBC and WBO belts earlier this year with a stoppage of Tim Tszyu. Hadribeaj, a Miami-based Albanian fighter, suffered his first professional loss after earning his title shot with a victory over previously unbeaten Bakary Samake earlier in 2024.
The bout was marked by early aggression from Hadribeaj, who targeted Fundora’s midsection, but the champion adjusted by landing precise uppercuts and maintaining pressure until the explosive finish. Fundora, who has won five consecutive fights since his lone loss in April 2023, now eyes either Jaron Ennis or Josh Kelly as his next obstacle on the path to undisputed greatness.
In the co-main event, Armando Resendiz outlasted Koen Mazoudier via unanimous decision in a tightly contested super middleweight clash, adding another layer to the event’s competitive depth.
