From Spain: Jorge Mendes Contacts Manchester City Over Barcelona Star as Rayan Ait-Nouri Eyes January Exit

Manchester City is evaluating a potential move for Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde as the club looks to address long-standing instability at left-back. Agent Jorge Mendes has initiated discussions with English sides regarding the 23-year-old, who has seen his playing time diminish under Hansi Flick this season.
Barcelona may seek a transfer fee around 40 million euros, though a loan with a purchase option is also being discussed.
Any pursuit of Balde by the Etihad club remains contingent on the departure of Rayan Ait-Nouri. The Algerian defender, who joined the squad in June 2025, is currently seeking a January exit to secure more consistent minutes.
Competition for Balde is expected to be significant, with Liverpool, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Manchester United, and Juventus also monitoring his status.
