Florida inches up USA TODAY Sports' re-rank after Week 8 bye

Despite having a scheduled week off during the eighth week of the 2026 collegiate football calendar, the Florida Gators moved up three positions to the twenty-second spot in the latest USA TODAY Sports power poll compiled by analyst Paul Myerberg. Sandwiched between Boise State and Iowa in that compilation, the program currently holds higher placements elsewhere, resting at twentieth in the coaches poll and seventeenth within the Associated Press rankings.

The Southeastern Conference continues to dominate the top tier with nine total appearances, featuring Georgia at fourth, Kentucky at ninth, and Texas at tenth. Additional conference members listed include Ole Miss, Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, and Missouri.

Looking ahead to the upcoming weekend, the Gators are scheduled to battle Georgia in their annual rivalry fixture on Saturday, October thirty-first. The matchup will be hosted in Atlanta with an afternoon kickoff scheduled for three-thirty Eastern Time, utilizing a national television broadcast provided by ABC.

Meanwhile, other conference programs occupy varying spots further down the re-ranking, stretching from Oklahoma at thirty-two all the way to Arkansas at eighty-fourth.
