Georgia’s offense faces a major personnel shakeup ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Alabama, as five Bulldogs are sidelined by injury. Running back Chauncey Bowens, the team’s leading rusher in touchdowns, will miss the game, while Kentucky transfer Dante Dowdell remains out indefinitely after suffering a serious offseason ATV accident.
With both backs unavailable, Nate Frazier—recovering from a ribs injury—will likely carry a heavier load against Alabama’s defense. The Bulldogs also lost offensive lineman Marcus Harrison and edge rusher Amaris Williams, who tore his ACL in spring ball and remains out for the foreseeable future.
On defense, linebacker Tyriq Green and wide receiver Thomas Blackshear are also out, while wideout Isiah Canion plays in a questionable status. Alabama, meanwhile, will suit up without five defensive players, including linebackers Justin Hill, Cayden Jones, and Desmond Umeozulu, as well as defensive back Nick Sherman and lineman Jeremiah Beaman.
Both teams will release updated injury reports 90 minutes before kickoff, with the game set for 7:30 p.m. ET on October 10.
