Fiercest rivalry in football? Millwall and West Ham face off after 14-year wait

Millwall and West Ham meet on Saturday at 12:30pm for the 100th edition of their historic rivalry, marking the first clash between the sides since February 2012 when the Hammers claimed victory at Upton Park. The fixture comes after West Ham suffered relegation from the top flight last term while Millwall fell short in the second-tier promotion play-offs.

Although Nuno Espirito Santo's squad rotated six starters in a midweek Carabao Cup loss to Fulham, the division leaders enter the fixture on a four-game Championship winning run featuring 16 goals, driven by skipper Jarrod Bowen's tally of four strikes and two assists.

In contrast, the hosting Lions face severe squad depletion with at least ten players sidelined by injury. Those fitness strains were evident on Tuesday as Millwall relinquished a two-goal advantage to conclude with a 2-2 result against Middlesbrough.
