Free agent Yves Bissouma has traveled to Amsterdam to finalize terms on a switch to Dutch side Ajax. The 30-year-old Malian defensive midfielder, unattached since his departure from Tottenham Hotspur in June, has settled on an arrangement covering the remainder of the current campaign featuring a team option for an additional year.
Bissouma initially arrived at Spurs from Brighton back in 2022, accumulating 111 total matches during his stay in north London. His final year with the squad yielded just 11 outings, each restricted to Premier League fixtures as the team slumped to 17th place for a second straight year.
During that same stretch, then-boss Thomas Frank notably dropped the midfielder from Tottenham's August 2025 UEFA Super Cup clash against Paris Saint-Germain as a disciplinary response to repeated unpunctuality.
